For those of you who didn’t know November is dedicated to National Diabetes Awareness. 23.5 million Americans have diabetes and 3 million of these are type 1 diabetes. Also, over 3 million Canadians live with Diabetes and 300, 000 of them have type 1 diabetes (the most severe kind). “Type 1 diabetes is a non-preventable autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas” (JDRF.ca). The Juvenile Diabetes website, mentioned earlier, gives a list of ways that allow you to get involved in Diabetes Awareness month. Some ways include financial contributions others don’t. Either way everyone can do their part! For more information on how to do your part, click here.  ANZIE is doing their part for diabetes with the sale of every Lifesaver Alert Bracelet for Diabetes (Available in either Gold or Sterling Silver) a percentage of the price is donated to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

A Princess at Heart

Although it comes in a flash, and goes in a flash, a woman’s wedding day is one that she does not cease to dream about from the first time she tries on her mother’s wedding veil at the age of six, having it follow her on the floor behind her like a princess.

When that marvellous day comes, the jewellery that you wear will be seen in all the pictures, videos, and memories. After picking “the dress”, you then need to contemplate the style of jewellery you would like. A bride has many options for necklaces, depending on the cut and style of her dress, of course.

Anzie has a beautiful and timeless selection of bridal necklaces, which can be seen here.

The following necklace gives off a sense of glamour, along with eternal beauty. It could be paired with a low-cut dress, or even a strapless one.

Royale Necklace - Clear Topaz Pear Link

If simplicity is something that you are looking for in jewellery, the necklace below is a bit more subtle, however still providing an enchanting glow and some pizzazz, perfect for your special day.

Dew Drop Collection - Princess Necklace - Clear Topaz Silver

Which necklace would you choose for your wedding day, glamorous or simple?  Do you believe that certain dresses deserve certain necklaces?

Anzie’s jewelry has been worn by many artists all over the world with many different styles. The pictures below show Katy Perry and Nikki Yanofsky at the Much Music Video Awards 2010 wearing Anzie. Wedding Dresses!

November 12, 2010

Ladies have you ever wondered what to buy for your girlfriends bridal shower?  Would you buy them something they could wear on their wedding day or something they could wear everyday? Depending on my dress I think I would appreciate something that I could wear on my wedding day!

For instance a wedding dress a such as:

Organza Sweetheart Strapless Ruched Bodice with Chapel Train Wedding Dress

Since it’s such simple dress I would put together a more vibrant piece from the Anzie collection such as earrings:

Royale Earrings - Clear Topaz Large Jolie

or a necklace as such:

Carré Collection - Clear Topaz Square Necklace

Or what if you had a dress such as:

"My Dream Wedding Dress"

Would you prefer a bracelet like this:

Bouquet Cuff Bracelet - Clear Topaz

Or would you prefer earrings like this:

Bouquet Earrings - Clear Topaz

Pick your Favourite and tell which one you would prefer!

           A) The Strapless dress with the earrings

           B) The Strapless dress with the necklace
           C) The One strap dress with the bracelet

           D) The one strap dress with the earrings

Moustaches & November? Movember!

November 10, 2010

November is prostate cancer awareness month. Prostate cancer is a serious disease and is the number one cancer affecting men. As such, awareness about its effects, symptoms and treatments must be raised.

Similar to the pink ribbon for breast cancer, the moustache has become the symbol for the fight against prostate cancer. Men all over the world are growing a moustache for the month of November in order to show their support for the cause, hence the name Movember! Last year was a outstanding success, with over 250 000 men, known as Mo Bros, growing their  ‘staches and raising over 47$ million globally.

Supporting this cause and charities such as Prostate Cancer Canada will help fund vital research that will lead to better screening tests and treatment options, help run support services for men surviving prostate cancer and will lead to a raised awareness of its symptoms and effects.

As Anzie does not currently have a Lifesaver Bracelet specifically for this cause, what are your ideas on how it should look? Should it be a bracelet, cufflinks, or something else?  Do you know anyone who’s growing out their moustache in support of Movember? Let us know!

Also, be sure to check out this short video explaining what Movember is all about:
